Glacier guiding at Folgefonna

Glacier walks or glacier climbing ski is a fantastic experience.

Buer Glacier is unique. It is here Folgefonna "cracks" over the edge and stretches down the valley towards Buer valley. Du får oppleve breen på sittt mektigste med spektakulære labyrinter, spir og sprekker. Her kan du klatre i tårn av blå is, eller vandre i brefallet. You get to experience the glacier on its best with spectacular mazes, spires and cracks. Here you can climb the tower of blue ice, or wander in glacier caves.

Juklavassbreen is one of the most accessible glaciers. You drive by car to the edge of the glacier, 1200 meters above sea level at Folgefonna summer ski center in Jondal.  Here will the glacier guides take you on the glacier. You will experience nature at its best, you will get knowledge of the glacier and cultural history of the area. The tour is up for the participants wishes. For some this means climbing and adrenalin rush, for others a quiet walk in a different world, with the view of the enormous power of the ice, Rosedalsalpene, and the ocean in the west.

The main season is from approximately 1. May to around 1 October, with an emphasis on ski trips to St. Hans and glacier walks after the season.
